Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Programme Budget Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of specialized tasks in support of the preparation, monitoring, and control of the budget. This role involves working with several different sources of funds and programs, as well as monitoring and allocating incoming funds.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve budget efficiency
* Collaborate with program teams to ensure effective use of resources
* Monitor and allocate incoming funds to optimize budget utilization
* Develop and maintain budgets and financial reports
* Provide training and support to program staff on financial management

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A first University Degree degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or any other comparable recognized professional qualification or valid professional certification (CA; CPA; etc.) from an internationally recognized, accredited chartered accountancy institution is required
* A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in financial management with a strong bias in Budgetary /Financial Control preferably in an international organization
* Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

While not essential, the following skills and qualifications would be beneficial:

* Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel required
* Experience in database packages, web-based management systems and ERP systems (preferably SAP financial modules) is considered as an asset
* Experience with IPSAS and/or IFRS is considered as an asset
