">Job Overview
">The Chief WASH position plays a crucial role in leading the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) program at UNICEF. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising all stages of the WASH program, from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of WASH outcome and output results.
">Main Responsibilities

- Managerial and Technical Leadership: Establish annual work plans, determine priorities, and monitor workplan implementation to ensure WASH output results are achieved on schedule and performance standards.">
- Strategic Guidance in Program Development and Planning: Oversee preparation of WASH inputs for situation analysis, ensure comprehensive data is used to inform WASH policy and program development, management, and implementation.">
- Efficiency in Program Management, Monitoring, and Quality Control of Results: Prepare documentation for program reviews, analyze progress and constraints of WASH outcome and output results.">
- Advisory Services and Technical Support: Participate in strategic discussions to influence national WASH policies and strategies, advise senior officials on WASH policies, strategies, and best practices.">
- Advocacy, Networking, and Partnership Building: Build and strengthen partnerships with government counterparts, UN agencies, donor agencies, and other stakeholders to stimulate coordination and collaboration.">
- Quality, Timeliness, and Predictability of Humanitarian WASH Preparedness and Response: Ensure annual preparation/revision of UNICEF's preparedness for WASH in emergencies, coordinate arrangements for humanitarian WASH.">
- Innovation, Knowledge Management, and Capacity Building: Organize and lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of WASH action research and innovation, ensuring rigorous monitoring and wide sharing of results.">
Requirements
">- ">
- An advanced university degree in civil or environmental engineering, public health, social sciences, or a relevant technical field.">
- A minimum of ten years of professional experience, including senior leadership and management positions at international level working in development, fragile, and humanitarian contexts.">
- Direct, practical experience and demonstrable track record in leading the design and implementation of large-scale WASH programs.">
- Experience in leading and managing medium to large teams of WASH professionals.">
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of another official UN language or local language an asset.">
