Job Title: Senior Emergency Specialist

UNICEF is seeking an experienced Senior Emergency Specialist to implement and manage regional initiatives, strategies, and activities in the assigned sector within the context of Emergency program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement cluster approach to the sector in an emergency situation in the Region.
  • Provide innovative leadership and expertise for supporting emergency preparedness and response in the sector in country offices.
  • Strengthen capacities of UNICEF and key implementing counterparts staff in the sector in Emergency.
  • Ensure availability of financial resources for the implementation of appropriate sectoral Emergency Preparedness and Response interventions.
  • Contribute to monitoring and identification of changes in the sector of vulnerable areas to trigger and coordinate prompt action within Early Warning/Early Action system.

Requirements:

  • Advanced University degree in social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration, or other related disciplines.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in all aspects of programme/project management and administration.
  • Leadership experience in managing medium to large teams is required.
