About the Role

International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, is seeking a highly motivated Associate Operations Officer to support the day-to-day operations of the country and program management team in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Country Officer and Country Officer, providing strategic analysis, data analysis, market mapping, briefings for internal and external stakeholders, and consolidating information for IFC management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting business development activities by conducting industry and market research to identify new advisory and investment opportunities.
  • Reviewing company information and assisting in screening potential business opportunities.
  • Undertaking background research on potential partners and investee companies for IFC in Afghanistan.
  • Preparing analysis of business performance and monitoring the portfolio and pipeline of current and upcoming advisory and investment projects.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent English written communication skills, including presentations, briefs, and memos.
  • Active listening skills and the ability to distill complex information into concise summaries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
