JOB TITLE: Reports Officer – Annual Country Report
TYPE OF CONTRACT: CST, When Actually Employed (WAE)

DUTY STATION (City, Country): Remote work (with one mission to Kabul) Afghanistan)
DURATION: 2 months
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: The ACR consultant will work with the team to ensure effective, accurate, and timely reporting of the Annual Country Reports (ACR). The ACR consultant will support in coordinating the annual reporting process to effectively report on progress, results, and lessons learned: to demonstrate the impact of WFP's food assistance on the lives of the beneficiaries.
The ACR consultant will also work very closely with the country office technical teams and the ACR focal points during the planning, drafting, and review process. The consultant will also review and ensure that the ACR adequately reports on Country Strategic Plan (CSP) outcomes, meets the corporate requirements, and is of good quality with the understanding that the ACR report is WFP's key donor product, used to justify and advocate programmatic excellence.
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Partnerships, Communications and OIM/Report Unit, the ACR Reports consultant will:
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare an Annual Country Report (ACR) for the Afghanistan Country Office (CO), analysing achievements and challenges in implementing WFP's Country Strategic Plan.
Coordinate with all functional units within the Country Office including COMET and M&E, programme team, and supply chain for enhanced access to accurate data, and information, to advocate and effectively communicate WFP's work and impact to donors and partners.
Support in communicating all processes and associated documentation with CO ACR focal points; address specific requirements for different ACR sections; analyse performance data; draft the report according to the ACR guidance and editing it based on feedback from the Afghanistan Country Office and HQ.
Ensure the production of a high-quality ACR that demonstrates WFP's organizational performance, coordinate reviews with teams in HQ.
Support in the management and update of SPRING (ACR online platform).
Contribute to consolidating a summary of Lessons Learned for the 2025 ACR season.
Any other duties as assigned and as required to ensure quality reporting in the Afghanistan Country Office.
KEY DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF CONTRACT:
Technical guidance and support is provided to ensure effective reporting on the CSP in line with the ACR guidance.
Submission of ACR in line with corporate deadlines and with high quality.
Layout of ACR in line with corporate standards.
Lessons learned initiated.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Advanced university degree in political science, sociology, economics, development studies, international development or a related field is required.
Experience:
At least five years of international experience in reporting on developmental / humanitarian operations; data analysis; editing; and coordination.
Knowledge & Skills:
Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills; knowledge of UN system policies and functions; proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of WFP reporting and data systems would be an advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English.
