Role Description The Academic Staff Member in the Faculty of Nursing is a full-time, on-site position based in Kabul. The role includes planning and delivering lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in nursing and related health sciences, in alignment with the faculty curriculum and institutional standards. The academic staff member will design course materials, develop assessment tools, evaluate student performance, and provide academic advising and mentorship. Responsibilities also include engaging in scholarly activities such as research and publication, contributing to curriculum development and quality assurance, and participating in faculty meetings and committee work to support the overall mission of the university.
Qualifications
• Advanced academic credentials in Nursing or a closely related field (minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s or PhD preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in teaching nursing or health sciences at the higher education level, including classroom and clinical instruction.
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice, and current evidence-based approaches to patient care and health education.
• Ability to develop curricula, teaching materials, and fair, transparent assessment methods aligned with academic standards.
• Proven skills in academic research, including designing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to publications or conferences.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in the language(s) of instruction, with the ability to engage diverse student populations.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to balance teaching, research, and service responsibilities.
• Commitment to ethical practice, learner-centered education, and continuous professional development in nursing and pedagogy.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, contribute to faculty governance, and support quality assurance and accreditation processes.
• Prior experience working in Afghanistan or similar contexts, and familiarity with local health systems, is an advantage but not required.
