Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled
Biomedical Engineer
to join our technical team and lead the
repair and maintenance of medical and laboratory equipment
in our company's workshop. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic abilities, hands-on technical expertise, and a passion for maintaining high standards of safety and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance on biomedical and laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure that all work complies with manufacturers' specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
  • Support procurement by identifying required spare parts, tools, and test equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and assist in capacity-building activities.
  • Collaborate with hospitals, clinics, and clients to plan equipment servicing schedules.
  • Conduct performance verification and testing of repaired devices before delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workshop environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
    in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience
    in repairing and maintaining biomedical or laboratory equipment (experience in hospital or NGO settings preferred).
  • Strong understanding of electronics, sensors, and instrumentation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and circuit diagrams.
  • Familiarity with calibration procedures and biomedical safety standards.
  • Good communication and reporting skills in English and Dari/Pashto.
  • Team-oriented mindset with high attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with autoclaves, centrifuges, patient monitors, suction machines, and ultrasound systems.
  • Prior experience working with health organizations (e.g., MSIA, WHO, or other NGOs) is an asset.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, service report management).
