Construction Inspector role under the T-7A Beddown Contracted Support Service (dated 11 August 2025) are as follows:

  1. Compliance with Standards: The contractor must be familiar with and adhere to the 32 series Civil Engineer AFIs, Unified Facilities Criteria, and relevant building codes.
  2. Coordination with Project Managers: Work with 47 CES/CENM Project Managers to ensure construction contractors comply with approved plans and specifications for projects, which may include large administrative buildings, hospitals, aircraft maintenance facilities, industrial facilities, or utility systems.
  3. Coordination with Contractors: Collaborate with construction contractor representatives on work scheduling, plan/specification interpretation, work methods, and material/workmanship acceptability to meet contract requirements.
  4. Claims Investigation: Investigate and report on situations that have led or may lead to formal claims by the construction contractor.
  5. Deficiency Correction: Coordinate with the contracting officer to address contract deficiencies, unacceptable materials, or substandard work to ensure compliance.
  6. Progress Monitoring: Monitor construction progress, evaluate schedules, note delays or issues, review cost breakdowns, progress data, material/equipment reports, and inspection/survey reports to compute payments and recommend approval/disapproval of contractor submittals and schedules.
  7. Documentation: Prepare documents, reports, and correspondence, and maintain daily logs and safety reports on construction progress and contract administration.
  8. Reporting: Provide Construction Dailies and Weekly Activity Reports.
  9. Education and Certifications:
    • A bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture is encouraged.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is encouraged.
    • Additional construction trade inspection certifications are highly encouraged.
  10. Mandatory Certification/Experience:
    • Must hold a 2021 or 2024 National Commercial Inspector certification from the International Code Council (ICC) in the B2 category, or have at least 8 years of experience as a commercial construction superintendent on public, private, or federal projects.
  11. Recommended Certifications:
    • 2021 or 2024 ICC National Commercial Electrical Inspector (E2), Commercial Mechanical Inspector (M2), or Commercial Plumbing Inspector (P2) certification is recommended.
