Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Herat Province, Afghanistan. The Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, developing disaster risk reduction strategies, providing training and capacity building to local communities, and coordinating with local authorities and international organizations. The specialist will also monitor the implementation of DRR activities and ensure they are in line with CESVI's mandate and objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing disaster risk reduction strategies
- Training and capacity building skills for local communities
- Coordination and collaboration skills with local authorities and international organizations
- Strong monitoring and evaluation skills
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to work in high-stress environments and adapt to challenging on-site conditions
- Experience in the humanitarian or development sector is a plus
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Disaster Management, Environmental Science, or related field
