**About the Job

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a highly skilled Energy Technical Specialist to join its team in Afghanistan. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing and implementing clean energy solutions for sustainable development, focusing on climate resilience and sustainability.

The Energy Technical Specialist will provide technical support to the Sustainable Energy Services for Education and Health in Afghanistan (SESEHA) Project, aiming to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency measures in public facilities for essential services delivery.

This position requires a strong background in electrical or civil engineering, environmental management, or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in clean energy projects, including renewable energy and energy efficiency, and project management.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in energy audits, surveys, and data collection, as well as proven experience in providing technical support to renewable energy and energy efficiency-related projects.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing circumstances.

The Energy Technical Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and managing all technical aspects related to renewable energy and energy efficiency activities in the project, providing technical advisory to the Country Office units, and ensuring the implementation of M&E frameworks for clean energy activities.

You will also supervise and manage an Energy Technical Analyst, contribute to the delivery, resource mobilization, and advocacy efforts, and facilitate knowledge management and coordination within the team.
