UI Specialist Development Engineer in Test

Meet our Team

The software development team in Hitachi Vantara Engineering is an agile team responsible for designing, developing and testing a new UI product for the Hitachi NAS Platform ).

The Role

You will be shaping the design, testing, and integration of prioritized work, which involves tackling diverse problems, and designing and implementing tests to ensure product quality. Your duties will include test framework and automated test development, as well as functional, hands-on ad-hoc, and exploratory testing. Additionally, you will help define test strategies and coverage, assisting us in moving towards shorter integration and deployment cycles.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Design and implement automated tests as well as create and execute ad-hoc and exploratory tests to ensure the quality of the product;
  • Help extend and support our automated testing infrastructure;
  • Test and develop software consisting of a web front-end, APIs running on an embedded system;
  • Maintain existing tests, and diagnose and resolve escalated problems;
  • Ensure good, automated regression test coverage.

Requirements

  • 5 years in quality engineering or development
  • Programming experience in Python
  • Experience in developing automated tests using Selenium
  • Experience with Network Attached Storage (NAS) or Storage systems
  • Experience with automation infrastructure e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Workflows, Docker, etc.
